Definitions & Scope

Service: QuranBot, a Discord bot providing Quran recitation, Islamic radio, and azkar automation.

User: Any individual or entity that invites, configures, or interacts with QuranBot on Discord.

Content: Religious and educational materials provided via the bot, sourced from third-party providers.

Scope: These terms govern your use of QuranBot on Discord. They do not cover Discord's platform terms or third-party content provider terms, which apply separately.

1. Eligibility

To use QuranBot you must:

• Be a registered Discord user and comply with Discord's Terms and Community Guidelines
• Have necessary permissions to invite and configure bots in your Discord server
• Be at least 13 years old, adhering to COPPA and regional data protection laws
• Use the bot primarily for religious, educational, or spiritual purposes
• Accept responsibility for all actions taken through your Discord account while using the bot

2. Required Permissions

Setting up QuranBot requires specific Discord permissions. You must have Administrator or equivalent privileges to execute the /إعداد command:

• Manage Channels: Required to create Quran category and associated channels
• Manage Roles: Required to configure permission overwrites
• View Channel: Required for bot access to configured channels
• Connect and Speak: Required for voice functionality and playback
• Send Messages / Read History: Required for control panel and azkar features
• Use Application Commands: Required for slash command functionality

3. Acceptable Use

QuranBot is intended for religious, educational, and spiritual purposes. The following uses are strictly prohibited:

• Publishing inappropriate, offensive, harassing, or discriminatory content
• Misusing bot functions to spam, disrupt services, or interfere with other users
• Attempting to reverse engineer or extract proprietary code beyond open-source license permissions
• Violating copyright or intellectual property rights of sourced audio content
• Using the bot for commercial purposes without explicit written permission
• Any activity violating applicable laws or Discord Terms of Service
• Impersonating the bot developer or support team
• Exploiting vulnerabilities or attempting unauthorized access to bot infrastructure

4. Intellectual Property

All religious content provided via QuranBot belongs to their original sources:

• Quran recitations are sourced from mp3quran.net under their terms
• Reciter metadata, photos, and audio links remain property of their respective owners
• Prayer time data is retrieved from aladhan.com API subject to their terms
• Azkar content is compiled from publicly available Islamic resources with proper attribution
• QuranBot software is open-source under the MIT License
• The bot serves as a medium to access content and does not claim ownership of source materials
• Users are responsible for ensuring their use of sourced content complies with original providers' terms

5. Service Availability

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue bot functions at any time:

• Services may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or technical issues
• Feature availability may vary based on server configuration, permissions, or regional restrictions
• We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of integrated third-party services
• To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for interruptions caused by factors beyond our reasonable control
• Users will be notified of planned maintenance through bot status or support channels when possible

6. Disclaimer

QuranBot is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law:

• No guarantee of uninterrupted service, error-free execution, or completely secure environment
• Not responsible for Discord outages, API failures, or third-party infrastructure issues
• Audio playback quality depends on network conditions, Discord infrastructure, and source availability
• Automated features operate on a best-effort basis and may experience delays
• Use at your own risk; we disclaim all implied warranties to the extent permitted by law

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• We are not responsible for data loss, service interruption, or configuration issues resulting from bot use
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the bot (if any)
• These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory underlying the claim
• Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in such cases, liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law

8. Termination

Either party may terminate the service relationship under the following conditions:

• You may remove QuranBot from your server at any time to immediately terminate service
• We may suspend or ban access for violations of these terms or Discord policies
• Upon termination, guild-specific data will be retained for a defined period before automatic deletion unless otherwise requested
• Termination does not affect rights or obligations that accrued prior to the effective date

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable laws and international internet service regulations.

• Disputes shall first be addressed through the in-bot complaint system or support channels
• If unresolved, disputes may be subject to applicable courts and legal jurisdictions.
• Users agree to participate in good faith efforts to resolve issues before pursuing formal legal action
• Users agree that legal claims must be brought individually, not as part of a group or collective action

10. Changes to Terms

Terms may be updated periodically to reflect bot improvements or legal requirements:

• Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised Last Updated date
• Material changes will be communicated via bot support channel or in-bot announcements when feasible
• Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms
• If you do not agree to updated terms, you must cease using the bot and remove it from your servers

11. Developer Admin Access

QuranBot provides a restricted administrative interface for authorized developers only. Access is controlled via secure server-side verification.

• Purpose: Administrative actions are performed strictly for maintenance, abuse prevention, or user-requested support. No access is granted for surveillance or unauthorized data collection.
• Capabilities: Authorized developers may view aggregated statistics, manage bot deployment, respond to support requests, and remove the bot from guilds when necessary for service integrity or policy compliance
• Privacy Boundaries: Admin access does not permit viewing private messages, voice content, or personal data beyond Discord-provided metadata
• Accountability: All administrative actions are logged for audit purposes and retained for a defined audit period

• Users may be contacted via Discord DMs only in response to user-initiated support requests
